Good day for a poor girl.

Uniballer and I had a good day today.

Spent the breezy warm afternoon running errands and getting lunch at Taco Del Mar.

As I have mused to myself before, when you've spent a large amount of time poor finding awesome deals on things that you might not really need but want and can have is a wonderful and beautiful thing.

We stopped in at Big Lots and I picked up a 12 dollar lipgloss for 2 bucks. I also got a nice sheer red glossy lipstick for two bucks.

What I am super proud of is the deals on necessities. At least necessities for me.

For 27$ I got about a 160 day supply of multi vitamins, the omega 3-6-9 formula I like, hair nail and skin vitamins. Similarly awesome we went to the dollar store for my favorite conditioner that I use for conditioner washes. I got 4 bottles of white rain tropical coconut conditioner. Great stuff.

Also snagged a pyrex massager octopus thingy, that came with bonus moist/warm/cool wraps for the neck for five dollars and I really need those.

Got a bra at big lots and some Ghost Rider boxers that I have on right this instant.

Nothing over ten bucks. Excellent.

While I was having a poo earlier I was looking at our toilet paper. A few weeks ago Uniballer picked up the tripe big rolls of that fancy quilted toilet paper and when I saw it, I was so excited I actually hugged the package. Why?

When you're poor and you're a champion pooper, having really nice soft not 1 ply bum wipe is a marvelous wondrous treat. Even better when you get it on super sale.

Also I did new a new make up look that is sparkly and gorgeous.

I wore a pretty outfit.

Very uber goth in summer. Full length straight black skirt with a lace overlay, black cami, black lace bell sleeved bed jacket. Black cotton mary janes.

Ahhh the goth in summer.

I have no color released henna in my hair which I'm going to wash out here in about an hour. Then a light shampoo and a deep condition.

Also awesome. My make up lover homies always remember to check your local Big Lots for good deals.

They also sell some tasty looking very cheap lip glosses.

I love pigment samples so much. Enough color for plenty of uses and a cheap way to experiment with high end make up. Awesome.

I think next week I will write up a being fabulous in the make up department on the cheap.

Also still trying to figure out how to do some youtube reviews.

Okay time to make a snack then prepare to wash and dry.

Dood seriously.

Hello Jo and Joy (an aside here I totally sat here sing songing Jo-Joy Jo-Joy to myself for like two minutes).

Now for some news yes? Yes.

So as you may or may not know I am a struggling/wannabe/whining writer type and I have had some fiction publication over the last few years and I am only recently making any serious foray into non fiction. My first paid gig as a um, well non technical amusement comes via the website MeanPC. My second editorial is hot off the press and find that bad boy here. This is a pretty kick ass website for us geek types. There are some great tech heavy reviews of stuff and then you have my silly editorials. My other one is located here. So that is hella exciting. And as an aside, HI Lonnie :)

My thus far shaky and slow writing career has spawned some hot porno, a hot mess of poetry and now some editorials. I have delusions of becoming a fabulous essayist and quite possible the perviest chick you know. Although that second one, I am probably 65% of the way there.

Yes, my friends I am a pervert. I like really very dirty and probably to some people gross things. Yes I do.

So that's what's new and fabulous with me right this instant.

In other news I really want to get my eyebrows done this week. I'm not sure how much it costs though since I usually do them myself but I am craving a little pampering. Or I might just do them myself and save some more $$ for some cosmetic type shiny things.

I really want to try some new mascara although the Maybelline Lash Stylist I've been using is pretty damn good. I was skeptical of the little comb thing at first but once I got the hang of it it's actually pretty good.

I really want something that'll give me the huge spidery lash I love so much.

I've been thinking about making Uniballer teach me how to use my digicam for video so I can make some youtube make up videos. Several friends have told me I should and I think it would be fun since um yeah HI I watch a shitload of them so I might as well make some.

I also need to make a list of what make up brushes I need. Probably should stock up on those before I go eyeshadow crazy again. I am also going to have to get a bigger train case at this rate.

Ye Gods my hobbies are freaking expensive. Even with my uber bargain shopping abilities some things I will just have to pay full price for and that chaps my ass.

Okay I'm done for today I have things to do. First I have to make a list of all the supplies I need to take care of my hair for the summer since I still can't braid my own goddamn hair.

Aaaaaaaaaaand again.

New product review my darlings.

I picked up (total impulse buy) a now discontinued L'Oreal H.I.P Pure Pigment shadow stick in Exquisite. Okay first of all the swatch on the page is entirely misleading and not really representative of the color. It's far more of a metallic blinging bronzy gold.

When I got it a couple of months ago I swatched it on my hand and the color is FABULOUS.

Bright, gorgeous fantastic.

So this morning I decided to copy this look from a cutie on Youtube.

The pigment stick does not play well with the Fyrinnae primer at all. This is the first time I've had this happen. So my look got way modified.

The pigment stick didn't adhere to the primer at all and I kept having to wipe it off to get a even fairly decent color deposit. -4 points there because as oily as my skin is I have to use primer or my shadow disappears in a couple of hours.

So I dug into my train case and Fyrinnae to the rescue for some bling I picked up my Fyrinnae Fools gold, which they don't carry anymore. It's a true gold that is pretty sheer dry and super super sparkly. After I finally got enough of the pigment stick on I sort of dabbed the gold from lashes to brow bone.

To keep a little closer to the inspiration I used Mac pigment in Fuschia under my eye in a long exaggerated cat eye, added a very thin long cat eye black liquid liner on top. Finished with buttloads of mascara and my favorite trick for a really dark black waterline.

the waterline is the rim above your lower lashes. I took my handy Karma black eyeliner (which is really the only liner I can get to stay on my waterline without running) and dipped it into my H.I.P cream eyeliner in black. After getting a bit on the pencil I ran that across my waterline for a very bold black line. I connected it to the outside corner of my eye but not all the way out the line of the fuschia and liquid liner.

Very bright. More so than I was going for but it was cute. I finished with some random dark pink gloss and out the door we went.

All in all I'm not really that impressed with the whole H.I.P line. I think it's over priced for the dodgy quality. One product is fantastic, the next one is eh. Granted some of the colors are fabulous and have an great payoff but, I still wouldn't pay full price except for the cream eyeliners.

The cream eyeliners are fucking fantastic.

At this point I feel like I'd rather shop AromaLeigh or Fyrinnae and feel all spoiled because that shit is handmade and fabulous.

First up a two eye view. Yes, my left eye is totally bigger than my right and it makes me look cock eyed. I am not actually cock eyed.

Notice the wee trail of pink in my under eye there. My eye seriously watered just a tiny bit right before I snapped ze foto.

I will say that the recalcitrant combo of the Fyrinnae base and the H.I.P pigment thingy did not crease all day. I was very impressed. I should've taken a picture before I washed my hair but, it still looked good after Uniballer and I returned home after our walk about/errand running.

As you can see I have done nothing with the template here as I keep bitching about. Fact is I am lazy.

OH I also just did my first steam treatment on my hair and holy SHIT it's fucking huge.

My hair feels amazing and so soft. Like baby hair. However like baby hair is prone to do it is going insane and I'm not really sure what to do with it.

After a wash my hair isn't generally quite so fluffy and uh just fluffy.

Although the four perfect little curls I have in my hair are lovely. If all my hair had that texture I would probably pee myself in joy. However it doesn't. That doesn't make me want to pee in joy but it is still purdy.

So I'm sitting here topless in jammy pants stolen from the hospital, with huge hair and I'm very tired. I still haven't slept but we got a lot done today.

3 In the morning.

I'm not asleep I am sitting at my desk topless with conditioner in my hair after I did a henna treatment earlier.

I know I'm such a party girl.

I have devoted the weekend to making myself feel pretty. Next up eyebrows re getting waxed, my moustache is getting removed and I might even paint my toenails.

My skin has gone buck wild this last few weeks and I am over it. So I am stopping use of anything soap related and going to be cleansing with baking soda and moisturizing with aloe until it calms down.

OOh I also picked up a good little haul from Cherry Culture some very well priced eyeshadow, glitter liner, etc. I really love that site. They carry both low end (Nyx) and high end (Sugar cosmetics) nice layout easy to navigate. Tasty stuff.

I think I am going to pick up some Avon Mark Mattifier on Ebay as well. I really am in need of a good oil absorbing primer. Or I might try Milk of Magnesia. Actually I'll probably try that first.

I'm still on the hunt for the perfect lipstain. The Avon Mark KissInk is close but not quite it. I'm leaning towards trying out the Liptini brand stain. I've seen good solid reviews and the colors look like what I'm looking for. It's pricy but if it does what I want it to, it's absolutely worth it.

That isn't to say I am not still in love with my lip glosses. I am a lip gloss addict certifiably. I LOVE them. I have more than anyone really needs and dig em.

The stains I'm looking at I want a base to wear with my more sheer shimmery glosses or some clear gloss for big vinyl wet shine lips. I think that is teh hawt. I'm not really into matte lips so much anymore unless it's a classic blue based red lip. Or a good dark brick red.

Okay that's enough. I'm going to go remove my moustache then get in bed and drink cocoa and eat tiramasu.
